Welcome to my blog!

This blog tells my experience with buying a house in Dublin, Ireland, and renovating it.

I wanted to share everything I learned along the way, my misadventures and any tips and tricks!

Finglas - End of Terrace House - 3 Bed / 3 Bath - €200,000

Type of Property: End of terrace house
Location: Finglas
Rooms: 3 Bedrooms and 3 Bathrooms
Asking price: €200.000, the current offer is the asking price (the owners are looking to close the sale in two weeks)
Age of the property: 10 years (built in the 1990s)
Floor area: 120 square meters
Public transportation: 1 Bus line (50 min by bus from my office)
Other benefits: Facing the Tolka park with a great view of the valley below. There is also a big Dunnes supermarket nearby.

NOTESWhen you start searching for a house, you begin with the idea that you won’t be able to find a ‘perfect’ house. There is always going to be something that would need to be fixed or improved. However, this end of terrace house came very close to perfection for me.

The ground floor is dominated by a modern kitchen facing the rear garden, which has an ample dining area, modern appliances and 2 skylights! The living room is also very bright with a big window facing the Tolka park and a functioning fireplace.

The first floor has the 3 bedrooms and the family bathroom: one of the smaller bedroom faces the small balcony in front of the house, while the master bedroom is HUGE. I'm fairly confident that it's as big as half of my current flat. It also has its own skylight.

So not only this property has an amazing view, it's enormous and bright, it's also practically brand new and in turn key condition.

The only downside is that the main road is fairly close and, when in the garden, you can hear the dull roar of the traffic.

This is an amazing house, love at first sight, and we'll certainly keep it in consideration.
