Welcome to my blog!

This blog tells my experience with buying a house in Dublin, Ireland, and renovating it.

I wanted to share everything I learned along the way, my misadventures and any tips and tricks!

Finglas - End of Terrace - 3 Bed / 1 Bath - €120,000

Type of Property: End of Terrace
Location: Finglas
Rooms: 3 Bedrooms and 1 Bathroom
Asking price: €120,000, the current offer is €139,000. There are currently 2 bidders and the owners are selling because they are moving back to their homeland.
Age of the property: 40 years (Built in the 1970s)
Floor area: n/a
Public transportation: It's serviced by one bus line, but the bus stop is pretty close.

NOTES: This property has a lot of potential: it is well maintained and while it has only one bathroom, one of the smaller bedrooms can be converted into a bathroom. The layout is pretty standard: the living room is in the front of the house, while the kitchen is in the back and it opens to the back garden. On the first floor there are three bedrooms with a family bathroom.

Other renovation works that are needed are: replacing the laminate floor and the outdated window frames, insulating the house (at least fixing the front), tearing down the back shed and creating a nicer garden.

However, given the price we would have room to make all those renovations and more. But the question is, how is it possible that the starting price was so low? It's because the house is located in a rough area of Finglas and you can find more about that here
