Finglas - Terraced - 3 Bed / 1 Bath - €150,000

Type of Property: Mid terrace
Location: Finglas
Rooms: 3 Bedrooms and 1 Bathroom
Asking price: €150,000,  (the only offer received by the owners was below the asking price. Since they are trading up, they had to sell this house to be able to buy another one).
Age of the property: n/a
Floor area: n/a
Public transportation: A couple of bus lines, but I would need to walk 10-15 min to the bus stop.

NOTES: I have to say this is one of the worst houses that I have seen so far. There are several elements that together shaped my opinion:

  1. It is expected that there should be some mess when a family is moving out, but it's not simply that the driveway was littered with rubbish, discarded building materials etc... The whole interior of the house and the back garden were very poorly maintained and untidy. At one point I wished for a hazmat suit. 
  2. Not only this property has only one bathroom, and the rooms aren't very large, but I also think there are some structural problems with the first floor: when I was walking in one of the bedrooms, the floorboards were so old and unstable that the TV stand on the nearby table kept wobbling.
  3. The back garden is completely paved over and needs a lot of work: we'd need to get rid of all the waste accumulated there (it looked a bit like a landfill), and we'd also need to remove all the cement. 
  4. The area is very dodgy. I have a pretty high tollerance for dodginess, but even I can admit that this was a bit scary. I was also passed by a gang of kids (no more than 12), and one of them even sneered at me "nice phone".. well, he obviously wanted my nice phone. 

I hate being too harsh about a house because obviously the people who lived there did their best to make it a home. But this was a big disappointment considering the nice facade.

Off Seville Place - Terraced - 3 Bed / 1 Bath - €190,000
